Ministry of Water Resources calls for vigilance of natural phenomena during the upcoming National New Year

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has issued a notice to people to be more aware of natural phenomena that may occur from 13 to 19 April 2022 during the traditional Khmer New Year.

In a statement on 12 April, the Ministry of Water Resources said that from 13-16 April, the Kingdom of Cambodia will be affected by the low-pressure valley (India) in the range of weak to moderate exposure to surface temperatures. The earth heats up (steam), creating a thermodynamic phenomenon that will make the temperature between 24 and 37 degrees Celsius.

"Between 13th -17th of April, there may be light to moderate rain mixed with thunder and gusts," the ministry said.

From 17th -19th of April, the maximum temperature and rainfall will decrease slightly.

The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology urges the public to be informed and to be on high alert for possible natural phenomena.
